From July 2020 to September 2022, Van Raam delivered batteries with a yellow GPS sticker (IoT Module). With this, customers using the Van Raam e-bike app had additional features, such as pairing the battery and receiving battery advice. The IoT Module found in these batteries is no longer operational. Learn more about all the functionalities associated with the IoT Module.
The IoT Module in the delivered batteries with a yellow GPS sticker is no longer operational. The current electric bikes being delivered no longer include this module and cannot access these additional features. For the batteries that still have a yellow sticker/IoT module, these functions have also been discontinued. The following information applied to customers who did have a yellow GPS sticker on their battery, but the features have been discontinued.
This depends on the type of battery you have; a battery without a yellow GPS sticker or a battery with a yellow GPS sticker. To connect a battery, you must have already connected the bike to the app. We show you how to do this in our video and article "Connect your adapted bike to the Van Raam e-bike app".
I have a battery with a yellow GPS sticker
If you have a battery with a yellow GPS sticker, then the above functions are also possible. In addition, some functions are added, namely:
Pairing battery.
View battery data such as type, status, serial number and remaining capacity.
Receive battery advice using notifications. To unburden you as a customer, you could indicate that you wanted to receive a notification on your mobile phone if your battery was low. You could indicate in the app at what battery level you wanted to receive this notification. You could also indicate that you wanted to receive a notification when, for example, the battery was too cold. You would then receive a notification with the advice to put the battery in a warmer place.
Receive push notifications: always stayed informed about your bike and decide which notifications you wanted to receive, so that you know when the battery needs to be recharged, for example.
If you had a smart battery, you could connect your battery to the app. You can recognize a Van Raam e-bike with smart battery by the large GPS sticker with a yellow border on the battery of the bike. Not every Van Raam bike with pedal support has a smart battery, but it is a smart e-bike. You don't have a smart e-bike if you don't have a bike with pedal support.
The smart battery was equipped with the same Internet technology as your smartphone, i.e. a SIM card connected to the Internet. This collects and transmits data. You could specify in the app itself what information needed to be retrieved and exchanged.
