Van Raam Tandems
With Van Raam's tandems, you can enjoy cycling together. The low (or lack of) entry as well as the various options available make the tandems often used with people who are no longer able to ride bikes independently.
Van Raam has various types of tandems:
A tandem in which the users sit next to each other: Fun2Go
The tandem with two wheels where adults can sit behind each other: the Twinny
A two-wheel tandem where a child and a carer are sitting behind each other: the Kivo
The Twinny and Kivo are also available in the tricycle version with two wheels in the back: the Twinny Plus and Kivo Plus

Customised Tandem
The low (or lack of) entry and various customisations make it an easy bike to use with people who are no longer able to ride bikes independently.
The easy-pedaling tandems have an (optional) freewheel setting to determine how much the other passenger pedals along. With the freewheel hub, the driver can adjust the way the passenger pedals along.
With control on the front, the freewheel hub has two settings:
The pedals of the passenger move along with the pedals of the main rider. The passenger needs to pedal along.
The pedals of the passenger move independently from the pedals of the main rider. The pedals move freely and the passenger cannot pedal along.
Control from the back of the Tandem:
In case of control from the back of the tandem, there is a third set. In that setting, the pedals of the passenger move independently from the pedals of the main rider. The passenger can pedal along.
The Twinny tandem and the Twinny Plus tricycles are also available as take-down versions.
Various options with the tandem
Van Raam's tandems are also available as an electric tandem with pedal support. We have many options available to make the tandem suitable for almost every use. We produce each tandem to be unique, and can therefore also customise each tandem to have controls in the front or the back.

Riding a tandem is healthy
Riding tandems is very healthy, while cycling you can communicate easily with each other and at the same time, you are getting outdoor exercise. The different tandems are also used as a mode of therapy, in addition to the healthy movement, there is also intensive interaction with each other. The combination of movement and social interaction has several positive effects on the well-being of the riders. The low (or lack of) entry and various customisations and versions make the tandem a good choice for people who can no longer cycle independently. The impairments for which tandems are used are very varied, they can be visual, physical, or mental. Despite their impairment, disabled persons can still participate in traffic.
