Riding specialized trikes at Silver Games
In the spirit of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Oaknoll Retirement Residence was hosting their annual Silver Games at Clear Creek Amana High School on Friday, August 12, 2016. At the Silver Games there were various specialized Van Raam trikes to ride on.
Van Raam special needs bikes to America
Van Raam bikes does not only provides custom bikes/special needs bikes for the Dutch market. Also, throughout Europe we have dealers who sell Van Raam bikes, as in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Recently, we also have a dealer in the United States of America (USA).
Van Raam wheelchairbike VeloPlus over the years
For many years now Van Raam is specialized in special need bikes and one of these bikes is the VeloPlus wheelchairbike. The Van Raam wheel-chair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam has two models of wheel-chair bikes: the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike and the OPair wheel-chair bike.
Tricycle for teens and elderly
Van Raam has plenty of choice when it comes to tricycles for people of all ages. For children, we have the Midi tricycle. For elderly or people who no longer have the strength to pedal, Van Raam manufactures the Easy Go miniscooter/tricycle, on which you can bike (with and without electric pedal support) or drive around like on a miniscooter. Van Raam in Varsseveld designs and manufactures a wide range of tricycles.
National certification mark mobility aids for Van Raam
Trade association Firevaned, the trade association for rehabilitation- and mobility aids, has taken the initiative to set up an independent label. In 2014, the National certification mark (In Dutch: Nationaal Keurmerk Hulpmiddelen (NKH)) launched in the Netherlands.

Next to special needs bicycles for one person, vanRaam manufactures bicycles for multiple people, like wheelchair bikes and tandems. Foot fixation for special needs bikes
At Van Raam we are continuously working on the further development of our custom bikes including the many options and accessories. In order to continue to innovate, Van Raam's Research & Development department, with the help of students from the Innovation Hub Innovar, is always working on design, innovation and improvement. A common option, the foot fixation (and lower leg fixation), is completely renewed!
Benefits tricycle for adults
If it's not possible to ride a standard two-wheeled bike due to stability problems or other limitations, a three-wheeled bike is a good solution. Due to illness or aging, you may come to the stage where cycling with a standard bicycle is not (or no longer) possible or is no longer safe. The risk of falling is too big and getting on and off the bike is no longer possible, so participating in traffic is no longer safe for you and your fellow road users.
