Fun2Go duo bike with protection screen in times of corona

The Fun2Go duo bike is intended for people who can no longer cycle independently, for example due to a disability or their age. With the Fun2Go you cycle with two persons next to each other, a driver and a co-driver. In this way people who can no longer cycle independently can still cycle together with a companion. Until corona put an abrupt end to this. Because how can you keep your distance if you cycle with two people next to each other?

Fietsmaatjes; in English bicycle mates, is a foundation where a volunteer and a guest, make wonderful cycling trips together on a side by side tandem​ with electric pedal support. The guests Fietsmaatjes can no longer cycle independently; thanks to Fietsmaatjes this is possible again! Together they have nice contact with eachother and they enjoy the surroundings while they keep on moving healthily.

In Norway, a specialised independent commission of the government has tested a number of different adapted bicycles in the course of a multi-year tender. The tender was based on a number of points that were weighted according to a number of criteria. In one of the categories, duo bikes, also known as side by side tandems, were tested. In the Dutch TV program Britts Gouwe Ouwen (Britt's Golden Oldies), Dutch host Britt Dekker interferes for 6 weeks between the elderly in a nursing home. With her tv show, the host wants to inform and inspire people about elder care. As a temporary caregiver she organizes various activities and trips at the care facility, including a bike ride with the Van Raam duo bike Fun2Go.

The residential care facility Wissekerke in Bazel (Belgium) recently has an extra special needs bike, which is the Fun2Go duo bike. The residents can already use the VeloPlus wheelchair bike since 2016, but now they also have a duo bike. Volunteer Garry Pieters has been cycling around 120 wheelchair rides a year since 2016.
