The brand new VeloPlus wheelchair bike
At Van Raam we are constantly working to improve and innovate our special needs bikes. One of the bikes that our Research & Development department has renewed is the VeloPlus wheelchair bike. From mid-October 2016 it is possible to buy this completely new VeloPlus wheelchair bike at one of the Van Raam dealers.

Van Raam is a manufacturer of special-needs bikes, such as tricycles, wheel-chair bikes, tandems, double rider cycles, electric scooter bikes and low step through bikes or comfort bikes. You can see on the internet that the Van Raam special needs bicycles are very popular. Recently The VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike, tricycle Easy Sport and double rider cycle Fun2Go were at the Dutch TV.
Which type of wheelchair bike is most suitable for you?
For people who can’t (no longer) cycle on a regular bike and who are wheelchair-dependent we have a good and safe alternative. The wheelchair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair –dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam special needs bikes has various types of wheelchairbikes: The OPair wheel-chair bike and the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike. We would like tot give you more information about the different wheelchair models.
Two person bike
The bicycle is a popular means of transport. Besides the normal two-wheel bike, you see more and more special or adapted bikes in the streets. For example, more and more use is being made of a two person bike, such as the Fun2Go duo bike, also called the side-by-side tandem, and the wheelchair transport bike VeloPlus. A duo bike (two person bicycle) is the ideal bike for elderly people who can no longer cycle independently, blind people, people with balance problems, people with disabilities and people who are wheelchair dependent. For people who are in a wheelchair, it is not obvious to go out on a bicycle. At Van Raam we have two different models of wheelchair bicycles, with which cargo bike users can also make a bicycle ride. More and more institutions, organizations, and residential groups have a wheelchair bicycle. You can read their stories and experiences about their wheelchair bicycle in this article.
Wheelchair bike and tandem on YouTube
There appear more and more videos of our custom bikes on YouTube. We have uploaded a lot of product movies at our own Van Raam YouTube channel. Besides our own videos, we receive beautiful videos of special needs bikes from our dealers. So we got for example videos showing the VeloPlus wheelchair bike and the Twinny tandem.

Van Raam has made a VeloPlus wheelchair bike video. This bike is suitable for disabled people or people who can’t participate in traffic independently. The video shows how someone in a wheelchair can easily be driven on the tiltable platform so that it is possible to cycle together.
