Easy Go scooter bike cycling in 3 different positions

At Van Raam, we manufacture adapted bikes for people with disabilities and for people who are looking for more safety and stability when cycling. One of our specialities is the Easy Go scooter tricycle. The compact electric scooter bike was developed for people with an unstable condition or changing energy. Find out more about Easy Go in our video and instructions and from which three positions you can choose to be able to cycle.

Video: 3 positions to cycle with the Easy Go scooter bike

Watch the video to see what options you have while riding the Easy Go scooter bike. It includes cycling with your own power, using the tricycle as an electric tricycle with pedal support switched on and pedalling, or driving with 100% electrical support and not pedalling.

3 positions on the Easy Go scooter tricycle

Read below about the three different positions in which you can drive the Easy Go.

1st position: Easy Go as a tricycle

You can ride the Easy Go like a tricycle without the pedal support switched on. The footplate is tilted upwards. In this stand, you pedal on your own.

2nd position:  Easy Go as an electric tricycle

In this second position, you have an electric tricycle, which means a tricycle with pedal assistance. To use this, switch on the pedal support via the smart display on the handlebars. The Easy Go is equipped with an electric motor as a standard. The support is then activated when you start pedalling and it depends on the pedalling strength, the selected position and speed. You can get an extra portion of support with the thumb throttle. You can also ride backwards by pedalling backwards.

3rd position: Easy Go as s scooter

If you want to use the Easy Go as an electric scooter, fold the footplate down. You can ride forward and backwards using the thumb throttle. You no longer have to pedal and use the bike as a scooter. This can be done at different speeds. You can easily determine what kind of support you would like to have during your bike tour.

The scooter bike has been tested according to NORM EN 12184 and fulfils the requirements specified in the Medical Aid Directive and provides a CE mark.

More about the Easy Go

Since the Easy Go has the Van Raam pedal support as standard, you also have constant access to our Van Raam e-bike app. This app is free and can be used by Van Raam bikes with pedal assistance.

The Easy Go is a very compact and agile bike and is therefore very well suited for doing shopping. With the adjustable double suspension, you get a stable and comfortable driving behaviour. You do not need a driver's license or any other license to ride the scooter.

Find out more about the Easy Go electric bike on the product page. You will find further specifications as well as our price list and access to our configurator. Where you can put together your own Easy Go according to your wishes, you will also find all the available options for the bike here.

Pedal support for the Easy Go

Van Raam has had the unique pedal support that is standard on the Easy Go since 2011 and calls it the Silent System. The motors, the batteries, the controller, the smart display and the software were developed by and for Van Raam, especially for the rehabilitation market.
In the ExtraEnergy test 2018-2019, the Van Raam Silent pedal support system won again in 3 of 13 categories. The high engine power, efficiency and range of the pedal support system are particularly praised. Learn more about the electrical system on the pedal support page.

Customer experience scooter bike Easy Go - Ankie van den Bosch
When they discovered I have Multiple Sclerosis* in 2000, I already had an e-bike for several years. Because my strength and energy continued to decrease, cycling became unsafe and I became insecure. It became difficult to get out of the car, to get away at a traffic light or to brake. And all this began to demand a lot of effort in traffic. I got scared when the wind was very strong. I avoided bridges and dunes.

Customer experience scooter bike Easy Go - Astrid van der Plank
I am Astrid van der Plank (44) and I own the Easy Go scooter bike since July 2018. I use a scooter bike because I have Spinocerebellar Ataxia type 28 (SCA28). SCA28 is a rare chronic neurological disease that, among other things, causes balance and coordination problems. When I could no longer cycle on a bike with two wheels, because I fell continuously, I started looking at alternatives. I tried several Van Raam bikes, but nowadays I am happy to use my scooter bike Easy Go.

User experience scooter bike Easy Go - Natascha van Leeuwen
Natascha van Leeuwen (49) uses the Van Raam's mobility scooter bike Easy Go since February 2019. In 2014, Natascha heard that she has Parkinson's disease, because she still wants to keep her mobility and stay independent, she went looking for (and tries) different mobility aids. For example, during her daytime activity group she cycled on the Fun2Go side by side tandem, she tried the Maxi tricycle and she rode a mobility scooter. Eventually she concluded that the Easy Go mobility scooter bike suits her best. Read in this user experience the experiences of Natascha with her Easy Go.
