“My name is Paula and I live in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Following a cerebral infarction, I was provided with a bicycle by the WMO in December 2021; the Easy Rider tricycle bike. Due to balance issues, I am no longer able to ride a bicycle with two wheels. I did try, of course, because you don't just switch to a tricycle easily. There's quite a process before you accept that your balance is causing problems.
With the Easy Rider, I have much more stability. I can go anywhere in the region; my bike has electric pedal assist, which is perfect for me. Actually, it's like the world opening up for you, that's what I've noticed.”

“In terms of options, I have electric pedal support, a mirror and I purchased a basket for the bike myself. I can also easily store my bike in the storage area. Furthermore, my Easy Rider was funded and provided by the WMO. The arrival of this bike has changed my life tremendously; I am a cycling enthusiast and I used to go out on rides all the time. Since I got this bike, I can cycle around the entire region again, and I use it every day. The world literally opens up for you because you are quite limited due to a cerebral infarction.”
Independent again
“If I have to describe in a few words what this bike means to me, it's that I'm more flexible; I can come and go as I please. Additionally, the Easy Rider is very smooth and sporty. What also stands out to me is that people are immediately helpful. You often get priority, they stop sooner.
I've actually only had positive experiences. I transport my plants from the market in my bike's basket. For me, it's fantastic; now I'm independent. I'm an independent woman who takes action, so yes, I can do that again now. And I'm very happy about that. So, I've basically gotten my life back because of this bike.”
