Customer experience Easy Rider tricycle - Nancy Walravens
Nancy Walravens is 42 years old and lives in Dilbeek, Belgium. She is a single mother with 3 children and had an aneurysm 8 years ago, resulting in hemiplegia on the left side (paralysis of the left side). Since 2017 she has an Easy Rider tricycle, because she wants to exercise despite her disability. Read Nancy's experience here.
Hemiplegia and a special needs bike
"I used to cycle on a regular bicycle (two-wheeler). Only this was rarely the case. In spite of my disability, the result of the aneurysm, I wanted to exercise a bit more. During my search for a suitable bicycle, I ended up at Van Raam via Vigo and rehabilitation centre Inkendaal. It then took me a month to find out everything as thoroughly as possible and to find out what adjustments I needed for my disability and needs.
I have had the Easy Rider since 2017 and purchased it via Vigo Wetteren with the VAPH (Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities) and partly financed it myself. I had to wait about two months for my tricycle and the tricycle was delivered to my home via the Vigo service. I am very happy with the bike and it was a very quick and good delivery of the bike with everything I needed and how I wanted it".

Nancy WalravensCycling with the Easy Rider
"I cycle with my Easy Rider tricycle mainly recreational and on a sporty level. In spring and summer I make daily rides of about 30 kilometres. I would also like to do this in autumn and winter. This is my challenge for the coming period.
I have a detachable bike, I asked this so I could transport it in my car. Also my tricycle is completely adapted to operate with the right side of my body as my hemiplegia is on the left side. My left foot has a foot fixation. Also the tricycle has pedal support and I even have 2 batteries to make rides and kilometres as far as possible.
I hope to be able to switch to the Easy Sport in the future. Who knows, maybe I can come and try it out at Van Raam. Hopefully everything will go as smoothly with the purchase as with my current Easy Rider. This is a goal of mine."
"I really like the bike. The Easy Rider tricycle is positive for morale and the physical and beneficial for the rest of my life, despite my limitations. I can now exercise with a positive result."
Nancy WalravensFreedom back thanks to tricycle
"I never thought I would be able to ride this bicycle for days at a time. Last summer I went cycling for a week in Kamperland. I cycled there from morning to evening for a week! This was just fantastic, the first goal I had set myself and achieved right away! Of course I also get a lot of attention when they see me riding the tricycle. People are amazed that I ride the bike with one hand.
I really like the bike a lot. I have my whole freedom back and I discover nature. I always discover nice places, where I would never go otherwise. I even go over the country's borders. The Easy Rider tricycle is positive for morale and the physical and beneficial for the rest of my life, despite my limitations. I can now exercise with a positive result and I keep moving."
