An expert, independent commission in Norway has tested different types of special needs bicycles in connection with a multi-year public procurement. Several aspects were important for this tender. These were rated with a specific weighting coefficient. In the tricycle category, vanRaam was rated best in terms of overall quality.
For anyone who has often visited our social media already saw one of more pictures of Diederik Wierenga. Diederik has traveled many thousands of miles on the Easy Rider tricycle with pedal assistance.
vanRaam produces bicycles for all ages with specific adjustments for every disability. There are bicycles with which children with a disability can cycle themselves and special bicycles with which they can cycle together. There are also bicycles with which children with a disability can be transported. At vanRaam we produce different types of tricycles for young and old, but also tandems, wheelchair bikes, double rider cycles and transport bikes. Children can have various physical and mental disabilities at a very young age. In this article we tell more about bikes for children with a disability.
As a manufacturer of special needs bikes we make special bikes for everybody who is not able to ride a regular two-wheel bike (anymore). So we make bicycles for example for people who need more stability while cycling or for childeren and adults with a disability or disease that makes cycling on a two-wheel bike impossible.
We received a very nice photo and video of Mrs. Bockting on her Easy Go mobility scooter / scooter bike. She has ridden over 5000 kilometers on her tricycle!
In the spirit of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Oaknoll Retirement Residence was hosting their annual Silver Games at Clear Creek Amana High School on Friday, August 12, 2016. At the Silver Games there were various specialized Van Raam trikes to ride on.
Van Raam bikes does not only provides custom bikes/special needs bikes for the Dutch market. Also, throughout Europe we have dealers who sell Van Raam bikes, as in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Recently, we also have a dealer in the United States of America (USA).
For many years now Van Raam is specialized in special need bikes and one of these bikes is the VeloPlus wheelchairbike. The Van Raam wheel-chair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam has two models of wheel-chair bikes: the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike and the OPair wheel-chair bike.
Van Raam has plenty of choice when it comes to tricycles for people of all ages. For children, we have the Midi tricycle. For elderly or people who no longer have the strength to pedal, Van Raam manufactures the Easy Go miniscooter/tricycle, on which you can bike (with and without electric pedal support) or drive around like on a miniscooter. Van Raam in Varsseveld designs and manufactures a wide range of tricycles.
Trade association Firevaned, the trade association for rehabilitation- and mobility aids, has taken the initiative to set up an independent label. In 2014, the National certification mark (In Dutch: Nationaal Keurmerk Hulpmiddelen (NKH)) launched in the Netherlands.
