If you have experience with cycling on a normal bicycle, you should take into account that a tricycle cycles totally different. Small children or adults who have never ridden a tricycle before simply ride it. Adults have to get used to a completely different cycling behaviour. On the Van Raam website, we have listed the specific characteristics of each three-wheeler model. We advise you to find out for yourself which model you like best. If you want to try out a bike or if you have already bought a tricycle, we advise you to follow the instructions below.
At Van Raam we are constantly working to improve and innovate our special needs bikes. One of the bikes that our Research & Development department has renewed is the VeloPlus wheelchair bike. From mid-October 2016 it is possible to buy this completely new VeloPlus wheelchair bike at one of the Van Raam dealers.
Van Raam is a manufacturer of special-needs bikes, such as tricycles, wheel-chair bikes, tandems, double rider cycles, electric scooter bikes and low step through bikes or comfort bikes. You can see on the internet that the Van Raam special needs bicycles are very popular. Recently The VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike, tricycle Easy Sport and double rider cycle Fun2Go were at the Dutch TV.
For people who can’t (no longer) cycle on a regular bike and who are wheelchair-dependent we have a good and safe alternative. The wheelchair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair –dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam special needs bikes has various types of wheelchairbikes: The OPair wheel-chair bike and the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike. We would like tot give you more information about the different wheelchair models.
In connection with the 65 year anniversary of the VW Transporter, Volkswagen was looking for people that are older than 65 years and still working. Van Raam promoted Henk Kluver.
The bicycle is a popular means of transport. Besides the normal two-wheel bike, you see more and more special or adapted bikes in the streets. For example, more and more use is being made of a two person bike, such as the Fun2Go duo bike, also called the side-by-side tandem, and the wheelchair transport bike VeloPlus. A duo bike (two person bicycle) is the ideal bike for elderly people who can no longer cycle independently, blind people, people with balance problems, people with disabilities and people who are wheelchair dependent. However, there are more bicycles for two people available. Discover in this article the eight 2 person bicycles in the Van Raam range.
Research shows that many people do a Google search for an electric bicycle for disabled people. Van Raam produces special needs bicycles for people with a disability or a limitation. We see ourselves more as manufacturers of bicycles for people who have problems with a "normal" bike. We have several bicycles for disabled people and people with a problem when cycling. For this purpose we produce special two-wheelers, tricycles, children's tricycles, adult tricycles, tandems, duo bikes, wheelchair bikes, wheelchair transport bikes, a walking aid and a bicycle taxi for the transport of 8 children.
For the third consecutive year at Van Raam, we see the percentage of adult electrical tricycles with pedal support increase with several tens of percent. More and more people with a disability realize that an electric tricycle increases their mobility and improves their condition.
As a manufacturer of special needs bikes, we aim to offer sustainable and contemporary mobility to as many people as possible. We do this for people with disabilities, but also for people who no longer dare to ride a traditional two-wheeler because they are afraid of falling or suffer from balance problems.
