At the end of June 2019, the very first side-by-side tandem drive-in cinema in the Netherlands was organized in the Mediacentrale in Groningen. The organization of the event was in the hands of students and they worked together with employees of Cosis. Dozens of people with a disability watched the movie BFG together on the buddy bike.
Liesbeth Snijder is using her OPair wheelchair bike from Van Raam as taxi in Epe, the Netherlands. She offers a cycling opportunity for people who are no longer able to cycle on their own anymore. Since April 2019, the OPair wheelchair bike has been used to take people from one place to another or for people who just want to take a bike ride.
At Van Raam, manufacturer of special needs bikes, we get more and more demand for electric tandems. Just like with the conventional two-wheel bike, people also want pedal support at the tandems bike. Since May 2019, Van Raam has expanded its range of adapted bicycles with the transport bike Chat. With the Chat rickshaw bicycle it is possible for a bicycle driver to transport two passengers. Thanks to the specially designed cockpit where design and ergonomics come together, passengers can enjoy a comfortable bike ride together. That's why, 14, 15 and 16 June, the International Cargo Bike Festival (ICBF) took place in Groningen and Van Raam was of course present with its (newest) transport bikes / cargo bikes.
In the weekend of May 24th to May 26th, the International Dealer Days 2019 took place at Van Raam. In total, 19 dealers from the countries Germany, Sweden, Norway, Italy, England, Scotland and Austria attended the Dealer Days and arrived at the new Van Raam factory in Varsseveld at May 24th.
