Van Raam is manufacturer of special needs bikes, like duo bikes, wheelchair bikes and tricycles. At Van Raam we have various tricycles for children and adults. The Norwegian government's independent commission has tested Van Raam's Easy Rider tricycle in connection with the tender procedure for a multi-year tender. Among other things in the points, price, absolute quality and the possibilities to adapt the bike to individual circumstances, the available accessories on the bike and the user-friendliness were tested. The hundred-year-old Herman de Grijff regularly cycles on his Easy Rider tricycle through Zutphen, a city in the Netherlands. He still does everything on his bike and if the weather permits he likes to get on his tricycle for an hour. At the beginning of April Herman turned 100 years old, making him probably one of the few hundred year olds who still cycle so much with his Easy Rider. Van Raam regularly sees news articles in which our adapted bicycles and their drivers play a leading role. We recently came across an article from the Hoogeveensche Courant (Dutch newspaper) that we definitely want so share with our readers. The article we encountered was about Wolda Fidom from Hoogeveen. Wolda wants to climb Mont Ventoux with her Easy Rider tricycle on 6 September 2019 and thereby raise money for KWF (Dutch Cancer Society) and the Hersenstichting (Dutch foundation dedicated to combat brain disorders). At the end of August our colleague Marnix and Henry, an English end user of a Van Raam tricycle, made a nice trip to the Dutch National Park De Hoge Veluwe with the Easy Sport and the Easy Rider tricycles. Late March Lilian van Zandbrink visited Van Raam together with her mother. Her mother’s freedom of movement has been becoming more and more limited, which is why she went on the look for a special needs bicycle. She tried 3 different bicycles in our showroom and the Easy Rider tricycle was the best fit for her. Lilian wrote a blog post about her experience at Van Raam.
In 2009, the then 70-year-old Gunda Krauss from Germany cycled on her three-wheeled bicycle Easy Rider from Munich to Rügen. This trip was more than 1200 kilometers and together with her dog Sauser, this trip took 49 days. For several years, Gunda has been working to write a book about this adventurous journey. With the help of crowdfunding, Gunda hopes to raise money so that is possible to release her book in the summer of 2018.
