A 3-wheeled bike has no stand to put the bike in place. Do you want to know why that is? Find out in this article why there is no stand on a 3-wheeled bike.
Actually, the answer is quite simple. The reason there is no stand on a 3-wheeled bike is because the bike cannot fall over because of the three wheels. This is possible with a 2-wheeled bike. With a stand, you ensure that a bike with 2 wheels stays upright.
A tricycle usually has 1 wheel at the front and 2 wheels at the back, which makes the bike stable enough by itself to stand. As a result, a stand on the bike is not necessary. This also applies to a tricycle with 2 wheels at the front and 1 wheel at the back.
The bike stand ensures that the bike does not topple over and stays safely in the same place. Van Raam has come up with the parking brake as a solution for its bicycles with 3 or more wheels.
When you put the parking brake on the bike, the brake is locked so the wheel is also locked. This prevents the bike from rolling off the spot. A big advantage of this is that it allows you to get on and off your 3-wheeled bike safely. When you stand still for a long time, you can also put the parking brake on the bike so that the bike cannot roll away.
