Van Raam produces uniquely special needs bicycles and specializes in tricycles, transport bikes, scooterbikes, wheelchair bikes, tandem bikes, double rider bikes, and low step trough bikes (also known as comfortbikes). Each model is also available as an electric bike (Pedelec).

Trade association Firevaned, the trade association for rehabilitation- and mobility aids, has taken the initiative to set up an independent label. In 2014, the National certification mark (In Dutch: Nationaal Keurmerk Hulpmiddelen (NKH)) launched in the Netherlands.
By this certification mark companies can demonstrate that they do the maximum to ensure service, quality and availability. As a manufacturer of special needs bikes is Van Raam a member of Firevaned. We work together to the joint mission to work together to build a strong industry.
After registration to obtain the NKH, Van Raam is assessed by Keurmerkinstituut B.V., an independent certification institution, on requirements as products and services, laws and regulations, quality care, physical environment and service & warranty.
During the audit the Keurmerkinstituut B.V. have ascertained that Van Raam meets all the requirements of the NKH, witch we have received the NKH-certificate and we are recorded in the NKH-register. Every year there will be a check if we still meets the requirements for the NKH.

We produce high quality Dutch special needs bikes for adults and children. To prove that we suffice different quality requirements we are ISO 9001:2015 certified. ISO 9001 is an international standard for quality management.
The Norwegian Government has had a professional, independent commission test a number of custom-made bicycles in four different bicycle categories in order to determine which bicycles are best and which customized bicycles may be sold in Norway. For this so-called tender procedure, there were a number of important points that were assessed with a certain weighting factor. We are proud to announce that Van Raam has been nominated for the prestigious Koning Willem I Award (named after King William I) in the SME category. Companies that have shown courage, perseverance, innovation and a sustainable and proper entrepreneurship in recent years are eligible. This prize is seen as the most important prize for SME companies in the Netherlands and will be awarded later this year by Queen Máxima to the final winner. Our German partner Utopia Velo, manufacturer of high-quality bicycles, has come out as winner in the Extra Energy test 2018 - 2019 with our Silent system pedal support. The company has won 3 of the 13 categories.
