What are the differences in design between the tricycles Easy Rider 3 and 2?
The Easy Rider 3 is the third generation Van Raam tricycle with a seat. Are you curious what the biggest design differences are between this bike and its forerunner? Read more about the Easy Rider 3 here, and see the six biggest differences between the design of the tricycles Easy Rider 3 and Easy Rider 2.
6 biggest design differences between the Easy Rider 3 and Easy Rider 2
The design of the Easy Rider has changed considerably compared to its previous version.
Check out the six biggest differences below.
1. Easy Rider 3: hydroformed frame part
The modern and aerodynamic design of the Easy Rider tricycle has a sporty look, partly due to its hydroformed frame parts. Hydroforming is a forming process in which a liquid functions as a forming medium. Hydroforming the tubes of the frame ensures a constant and precise result.
The tubes of the frame of the Easy Rider 2 tricycle are only bent and not formed using hydroforming.
2. Different seat Easy Rider tricycle
The Easy Rider 3 tricycle has a comfortable seat with tailbone relief. In addition, the seat is sloped at the front and has raised edges on the side for better sitting comfort and lateral support. The position of the backrest and seat are individually adjustable with a simple allen key.
The back of the Easy Rider 3 has mesh in the seat, which provides better division and thus fewer pressure points, in addition, this material provides ventilation and cooling of the back.
The seat of the Easy Rider 2 is a simple, comfortable seat with backrest. The backrest of the Easy Rider 2 can be ordered as an option for the Easy Rider 3. It was possible to order an XL seat for the Easy Rider 2 as an option. The seat of the Easy Rider 3 is suitable for (almost) everyone.
3. External charging port in backrest tricycle Easy Rider 3
The electric version of the Easy Rider 3 tricycle has an external charging port in the backrest of the bike to charge the battery. With this easy to reach charging port the battery can be charged directly without removing the battery from the bike. The battery can also be removed from the bicycle and taken inside to be charged.
The Easy Rider 2 has no external charging port. With this tricycle you remove the battery from the bike and take the battery inside to charge. Optionally, the battery can also be charged directly in the holder (at the back at the bottom), for this you have to bend down.
4. Other (standard) colors
The Easy Rider 3 has different colors than the Easy Rider 2 tricycle. The colors for the Easy Rider 3 are as follows:
Standard: (RAL 7026) Granite gray (high gloss).
Option 1 (for an additional charge): (RAL 7040) Window grey.
Option 2 (for an additional charge): (RAL 2000) Yellow orange matt.Â
It is also possible to have the Easy Rider tricycle powder coated in a color of your choice (of those available) for an additional charge.
The Easy Rider 2 has the standard color ocean green/silver. In addition, there were other optional colors and it was also possible to have the frame powder coated in a color of your choice.
5. Easy Rider 3 is available in 2 frame sizes
The Easy Rider is available in sizes Medium (standard) and Large, making the bike suitable for both small and large adults. Which size is suitable depends on the inner leg length. The Medium Easy Rider 3 tricycle is suitable for an inner leg lenght between 65-88 centimeters. The Easy Rider 3 size Large is suitable for an inner leg lenght between 85-108 centimeters.
It was possible to purchase the Easy Rider 2 with an extended frame.
6. Durable luggage platform on the Easy Rider 3
The Easy Rider 3 has a durable luggage platform with a sleek design and quick-release straps. This platform is made of PLA: a durable, user-friendly plastic that is biodegradable. As an option you can also choose a shopping basket. The Easy Rider 2 has a luggage rack.
