Adaptive tricycle for a large or older child
Do you have an older child or a large child who needs a (adaptive) tricycle? Van Raam is a manufacturer of special needs bicycles for people with a disability or people who are looking for more safety and stability while cycling. Van Raam has several tricycles in its range that are suitable for a large or an older child. View and read more about these tricycles here.
The right adaptive tricycle for a large or older child
Not everyone can cycle on a standard two-wheel bike. Van Raam makes adaptive bicycles for adults and children with a disability and/or who don't want or can't cycle with a standard bike with two wheels. To help children with a disability to cycle (again) on their own, Van Raam has several tricycles in its range that are specially designed for children.
In order to find the right trike for a large or older child, it is important to know the inner leg length of your child. The inner leg length is the most important specification to determine the frame height and seat height of the bike. You measure the inner leg length by measuring the length of the crotch to the ground and the feet must stand flat on the floor at a distance of about 15 cm. A number of Van Raam tricycles are available with a larger or smaller frame height, with other tricycles the height of the frame is easily adjustable.
Van Raam tricycles for children
Midi
The Midi is a trendy designed tricycle for large or older children or smaller adults. It is a smooth-running tricycle with a sturdy finish and beautiful design and available with several options. The Midi trike is suitable with an inner leg length between 66-80 cm and is available in different frame heights (the standard frame height is 41 cm, also available in 31 cm or 49 cm).
Easy Rider Compact Small
The Easy Rider Compact Small tricycle is suitable for a large or older child aged 5 years or older with balance problems or other limitations that make it impossible to ride a regular two-wheeler.
The tricycle has a low entry and a comfortable seat with a backrest, which offers more support and comfort than a regular saddle. The comfortable forward pedal movement gives the bike a sporty character. This tricycle can also be expanded with options. Suitable for an inner leg length of 52-72 cm.
Easy Sport Small
The Easy Sport Small recumbent tricycle with under-seat steering is designed for children and small adults who want to cycle in a sporty way. The bike offers excellent riding comfort thanks to the suspension in the frame, the seat with backrest, the forward pedaling position, and the reclined cycling posture. The under-seat steering reduces strain on the back, neck, shoulders, and wrists. The bike is suitable for an inside leg length of 47 - 73 cm.

For the right tricycle it is wise to make a free test ride on the different models at Van Raam in Varsseveld. During an appointment for a test ride you will get all the information you need to know and the possibility to try out one or more models, for example on the bicycle test track. Also possible options and accessories are discussed and tested here.
Are you not able to come to the showroom? Van Raam has many dealers at national and international level. Please contact a dealer in your area and ask about the possibilities. Eventually a Van Raam bicycle can be ordered from a dealer and the dealer will take care of the warranty and maintenance.
Electric large tricycle for a child
A Van Raam tricycle for a large or older child can be upgraded with all kinds of options and accessories, for example as an electric bicycle with pedal support. Van Raam has developed its own pedal support system. The Silent System is a unique and award winning system and is characterized by its simple operation, the possibility to cycle backwards and the possibility to program the support individually. The Van Raam pedal support system can be used in combination with the Van Raam E-Bike app.
