The Kivo Plus is a very stable tandem because of the two wheels at the back. Users sit firmly on the bike in curves and cannot tip over. It is also easy to get on and off the bike. By fixing the parking brake, the bike stays safely in place.
The tandem also has a low step trough for both parent and child and is therefore easy to use. This contributes to the ease of getting on and off the tandem.
Via the switchable freewheel hub you can determine if and how the child cycles along on the tricycle tandem. You can choose from the following 3 positions:
The child's pedals turn with the driver's pedals. The child must cycle with you.
The child's pedals move independently of the driver's pedals. The pedals move freely and the child cannot cycle with them.
In this position, the child's pedals move independently from the driver's pedals. The child can cycle along.
Because the adult sits behind the child, both the parent/caregiver and child have a good view of the surroundings. In addition, the driver always has a good view of the child in front.
The Kivo Plus parent child tandem can be expanded with optional pedal support. Van Raam has developed its own electrical pedal support system. The motors, the batteries, the controller, the Smart display and the software are specially developed by and for Van Raam, especially for the adapted bikes.
