Customer experience low entry bike Balance – Gerritsen
Frederik Gerritsen (51) was very active until he had a severe motorbike accident in 2020. Since then, he has been unable to cycle on a regular two-wheel bike and now uses the low entry bike Balance. Read his experience here.
A severe motorbike accident
“I am Frederik Gerritsen, 51 years old. I live in Twello (the Netherlands) and I am father of two adolescent children. I had a very active life; my hobbies were skiing and mountain biking. I always cycled on an e-bike, city bike or ATB bicycle (all terrain bike). This stopped when I had a severe motorbike accident in May 2020. As a result, I can only bend my left knee 55 degrees and I cannot cycle on a standard bicycle anymore.”
A test ride at Van Raam
“In the rehabilitation centre, I cycled on the Easy Rider tricycle of Van Raam. But I wanted to ride a two-wheel bicycle again. I searched the internet and the Van Raam website specifically for that. Then I went to the Van Raam showroom in Varsseveld to make a test ride on the Balance low entry bike. This was the first time I cycled on a two-wheel bike since the accident. It is my best experience with the Balance.”

Frederik GerritsenThe Balance low entry bike
“I finally ordered the Balance at Van Ingen Tweewielers in Twello. The contact with the dealer was good. I finally received the bicycle in June 2021, and I give it a 10 out of 10! I chose a larger frame size and furthermore the bike is equipped with an extra pivot point at the crank and anti-puncture tyres. It may be a bit heavy, but feels solid, cycles light and I have a pleasant cycling position. It is also nice that the bicycle can be taken along on a bicycle stand at the back of the car.”
