An expert, independent commission in Norway has tested different types of special needs bicycles in connection with a multi-year public procurement. Several aspects were important for this tender. These were rated with a specific weighting coefficient. In the tandem category, Van Raam's bicycles were assessed as best in terms of overall quality. For both the three-wheel tandems where one rider sits behind the other as well as the side-by-side tandems, the quality of Van Raam tandems was far superior to other bikes in the test.

The Van Raam wheel-chair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam has two models of wheel-chair bikes: the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike and the OPair wheel-chair bike.
