Unique riding characteristics of the low step through bike Balance
One of the adapted bikes in the Van Raam assortment is the low step through bike Balance. Discover 4 unique riding characteristics of the comfortable two-wheel bike in this article.
1. Easy to get on and off because of the low step through
The frame of the Balance is designed to provide the lowest possible entry. You don’t have to lift your leg high to get on the bike. Once you have your legs both on a side of the bike, you pull the bike forward until the saddle is positioned beneath you so you can easily sit down.
2. Always with both feet on the ground
One of the unique characteristics of the low step through bike Balance, is that you can always stand with both feet flat on the ground when you’re on the bike. So, you don’t have to balance on your toes when you’re standing still at a traffic light for example. Instead, you can stand firmly with both feet on the ground without having to get off. This is due to the unique bike frame where you sit diagonally behind the bottom bracket and therefore sit slightly lower instead of on top of the bottom bracket as is the case with a regular two-wheel bike.
3. Forward pedal motion
Because of the unique frame, whereby the saddle is mounted slightly behind the bottom bracket, you make a forward pedal movement while cycling. With this way of cycling you can give more force with your legs than when you sit above the bottom bracket and make a downward pedal motion like on a regular two-wheel bike.
4. Ergonomic seating position
Another important riding feature of the low step through bike Balance, is its unique ergonomic seating position. Your wrists, back, neck and shoulders are hardly burdened while cycling. In many cases, this can make cycling possible when there are (pain) complaints in these areas.
The Balance Smart e-bike
A frequently chosen option with the Balance is the Van Raam pedal support system, the Silent System, which makes your low step through bike Balance a Smart e-bike. This is a bicycle with a pedal assistance system that is connected to the internet. You can then use the Van Raam app to set a different support mode on your Van Raam bike. The e-bike app for your smartphone can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
If you chose for the pedal assistance, cycling becomes even easier on this comfortable two-wheeler. Some of the advantages of the pedal assistance are:
- Easy to operate system
- 3 individually adjustable settings
- Starting aid
- Powerful and almost silent electric motors
- Modern and efficient electronics
