Unique driving characteristics of the FunTrain duo bike trailer
The FunTrain is a special bike in the Van Raam range. It is a duo bike trailer that can be connected behind the Fun2Go. Discover in this article the unique riding characteristics of the FunTrain.attendant can safely cycle with three ridersThe FunTrain will then brake automaticallypopular with care institutions
FunTrain Van Raam duo bike trailer
The FunTrain is a duo bike trailer from Van Raam which can be attached behind the Fun2Go duo bike. On both the Fun2Go and FunTrain 2 people can sit side by side. This means that an attendant can safely cycle with three riders on a Fun2Go with a FunTrain attached.
See below 3 unique riding characteristics of the FunTrain double bike:
1. Pedaling along is not mandatory due to optional switchable freewheel hub
The driver on the Fun2Go is the only one who steers and brakes. With the optional switchable freewheel hub, the driver can set the way of pedaling along for the co-driver on the Fun2Go. The FunTrain can also be optionally equipped with a switchable freewheel hub for a co-driver (or 2 units for both co-drivers). The switchable freewheel hub has three positions:
The co-driver's pedals move with the driver's pedals. The co-driver must pedal along.
The co-driver's pedals move independently of the driver's pedals. The pedals rotate freely and the co-driver cannot ride along.
In this position, the co-driver's pedals move independently of the driver's pedals. The co-driver can ride along.
Read more about this option in the article 'Combination of 8-speed and disengagement hub Fun2Go'.
2. Self-braking by hydraulic overrun brake
The FunTrain is equipped with an hydraulic overrun brake. This means that the FunTrain will automatically brake if the Fun2Go slows down. The FunTrain wants to maintain speed because of its mass and presses against the Fun2Go. The slider, which is mounted on the drawbar near the coupling, will slide in and press the hydraulic brake cylinder. The FunTrain will then brake automatically.
3. Good visibility and communication by sitting side by side
On the FunTrain you sit next to each other, so you can communicate well with each other and meanwhile enjoy the surroundings. This makes the FunTrain popular with care institutions for the elderly. Volunteers can use the Fun2Go in combination with the FunTrain to take several elderly people out for a bike ride. The advantage of the FunTrain is that the co-drivers are not obliged to ride along and can still enjoy cycling together. Benefits of the FunTrain duo bike trailer
In addition to the above mentioned features, the FunTrain has even more benefits. These are:
- Easy to attach behind a Fun2Go duo bike
- Easily adjustable seats with backrest
- FunTrain easy to put in place with folding support wheel
- Several options possible
