Before the end of 2022, the Dutch government will place speed cameras on bicycle paths. This to reduce the speed on the bicycle paths. Van Raam has a solution with which you do not have to worry about your speed and possible traffic fines anymore. Read more about this innovative and unique solution here.

As you may have guessed, this is an April Fool's joke. Although there is no such invention, with the Van Raam e-bike App you can set a different support mode on your Van Raam bike and view information about the bike. Try out these and other options on a test ride! At some dealer locations it is also possible to make a test ride, please contact your local dealer for more information.

A happy Van Raam cyclistIt is becoming increasingly crowded on the bicycle paths. More and more people have an e-bike and accidents often happen because people cycle too fast. Therefore, the Dutch government wants to reduce the speed on bicycle paths in the Netherlands by installing speed cameras. Before the end of the year, the speed cameras will be placed on the cycle paths and there will be different cycling zones with a maximum speed of 10, 15 or 25 km/h. Do you have a (Van Raam) bike? Then you will soon have to watch out that you do not cycle too fast for the speed cameras and receive a fine.

Van Raam has an innovative solution especially for your electric Van Raam bicycle.
Thanks to this speed limiting invention, the Van Raam E-Bike App informs you of the speed limit and any speed cameras, and your bike adjusts to the maximum speed.
We can have the bicycle react in such a way that it takes over the maximum speed of the area in which it is cycling at that moment.
Maikel Fraikin (Information Manager)The current Van Raam Smart e-bike App can communicate with the bicycle. New is that we will inform you via the app about the speed limit and any speed cameras. In addition, Van Raam can adjust the speed of your bicycle as soon as you enter a speed camera zone. Thanks to Van Raam's smart technology, your bicycle will automatically adopt the maximum speed of the area in which you are cycling at that moment.

At Van Raam, we are now working on the first tests. These tests take place on the bike test track at our bicycle factory in Varsseveld, the Netherlands. We have installed a speed camera in order to be able to test in a representative way. The first results look good and we hope to launch the updated app this summer.

During a test ride one of our technical advisors will tell you all about our special needs bikes and the possible options. On the bike test track, you can test the bike and make sure that the speed camera does not see you.
